From March 1st 2022 throughout the quarter, the hotel’s gallery will exhibit the work of Zacatecan artist Rafael Coronel (1932-2019). He is considered one of the greatest representatives of the new expressionism in Mexican art.

Born in Zacatecas, he moved to Mexico City at the age of 20. He studied architecture, but his true vocation — shared with his family — was painting. He studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving La Esmeralda.

In his career, two stages can be distinguished: the first is figurative, from his beginnings until 1960; the second, from the 1970s onwards, is abstract, characterized by his handling of light and color.

The exhibition at Orchid House Mexico City Gallery, at Campos Elíseos 76, in Polanco, was curated by Daniel Alcazar and brought together in collaboration with Caminarte México.

The exhibition is open to the public, especially for those interested in viewing or acquiring works of art. Admission is free, with visiting hours from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
