Orchid House San Miguel de Allende
Hidalgo 21 · San Miguel de Allende · 6 rooms
A three-hundred-year-old boutique house in the Historic Center, steps from La Parroquia.
Destination
Historic Center, World Heritage Site
On Hidalgo street, a four-minute walk from La Parroquia. The house sits inside the UNESCO World Heritage boundary: sixty-four blocks of cobbled streets. From Bajío airport, 1h20 to 1h45; from Querétaro, an hour.

Heritage
Three hundred years, one family
The courtyard is the house's center: vaulted brick corridors, a cantera stone fountain and mosaic floors nobody has replaced since they were laid. The quiet of a three-hundred-year-old courtyard isn't something a chain hotel can buy. Outside, the courtyard and its fountain hold space for a small event, under the sky of the Historic Center. Ask about availability — it's the only thing the house confirms about events today.

The furniture and the antiques come from the collection of the Vidargas Castillo family, antique dealers in San Miguel de Allende for four generations. The textiles were handmade by artisans from the area — nothing here came from a catalogue.
What guests say

Gastronomy
Breakfast is made to order
The house has no restaurant: it has a kitchen. Breakfast is Mexican, included in the rate, and made to order — the chilaquiles have a following of their own in the reviews. Served in the courtyard by the fountain, or at the long table in the dining room.
